AMD mentioned the Radeon cards in an earnings call about its 2022 plans. With our current products ramping up and launching our next wave of Zen 4 CPUs and RDNA 3 GPUs, we expect another year of steady growth and share gains, said CEO Lisa Su.
With a 5-nanometer manufacturing process, the GPUs will be able to utilize more processing power than the 7nm technology used in most of the current RDNA 2 Radeon 6000 series. AMD did not provide a time frame for the RDNA 3 GPU release. The cards will be released this fall, two years after the Radeon 6000 series was first introduced.
However, the main problem with today’s graphics cards is their limited supply. The ongoing semiconductor shortage has hampered AMD and Nvidia from delivering enough graphics cards to meet customers’ high requirements.

Specifications Rumors
Rumors said Navi 31, a GPU in the RDNA 3 lineup, will have two chiplets with 80 CUs, giving it a total of 160 CUs. This did not occur, as AMD abandoned CPUs (Compute Units) completely and substituted WGP (Work Group Processors) for AMD’s flagship and probably all of the RX 7000 GPUs.
Each GCD has 3 Shader Engines (SE) and 2 Shader Arrays (SA), for a total of 12 Shader Arrays and 6 Shader Engines in one Navi 31 GPU. Each WGP has 8 SIMD32s, and each Shader Array has 5 WGPs, in addition to 5 Work Group Processors.
After doing the math, it becomes clear that the RX 7900 XT will feature 15,360 cores and streaming processors. But what can we learn from all this information? Also worth noting is that RDNA 2’s flagship, the RX 6900 XT, has 5120 cores total; this means that Navi 31 has three times as many cores.

AMD RDNA 3 PRICE
Due to the increase in chip wafer fabrication rates at TSMC, AMD’s Radeon graphics cards have seen their prices rise by 10% since November 2021.
Unfortunately, a January 2022 report indicates that prices could rise by an additional 20%, but this could also affect Intel and Nvidia products.
To put this in context, the MSRP of the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT could rise to $1199 USD for the flagship Radeon card.

Nvidia, an AMD rival, also said that its GPU supplies will improve in the second half of 2022, citing new investments in chip production, but this may not provide enough relief.
